DAVID MUÑOZ is a Spanish writer, director and film producer. He has received more than 100 film awards and over 500 selections in international film festivals. Among them, the Goya Award for Best Short Documentary for FLOWERS OF RWANDA. Also, the Jury Award for Best Documentary in the Aljazeera Documentary Film Festival for THE INFINITE JEST; the FIPRESCI Award at DOK Leipzig for its feature documentary ANOTHER NIGHT ON EARTH, also winner of the NHK TV Presidential Award and Best Feature Documentary Film Award in Guanajuato International Film Festival; his last short fiction film, ABOUT NDUGU, was selected for competition at the 63rd Berlinale Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin and won the Best Andalusian Short Film Award at Almeria en Corto International Short Film Festival.
PhD in Financial Economics, DAVID MUÑOZ worked for several years as a financial analyst in a Japanese bank. Also, as a financial policy advisor to regional governments and municipalities in Spain. He wrote articles on infrastructure and public services financing systems and worked as a postgraduate professor in the School of Applied Finances. Then he jumped into his passion of making films.
